With the Frenchman’s understanding and partnership alongside Argentine Lisandro Martinez continuing to blossom at the heart of United’s defence, Victor Lindelof will likely replace the World Cup winner with club captain Harry Maguire only just returning from injury.
Ahead of this afternoon’s Premier League clash against West Ham United at Old Trafford, Varane has took to Instagram to provide an injury update.
The 87-time France international, who joined United last summer, declares that he’s “feeling good” and he shares footage of himself working hard in the gym in order to prove his fitness to Les Bleus Didier Deschamps.
Varane will be hoping to form a part of France’s 26-man squad ahead of next month’s 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
He played a key part in France’s success in Russia four years ago, and he’ll be hoping that Deschamps is willing to take a chance on his fitness ahead of the tournament in the Middle East.
France kicks off their attempt of defending the World Cup against Australia in 23 day’s time, and they have also been drawn in Group D alongside Denmark and Tunisia.
