A 27-year-old woman allegedly died by suicide after exploitation by her gym trainer in the cantonment area of Agra.
The woman’s body was found hanging at home by her parents. The suicide note left by the woman blames her gym trainer for deceiving her and exploiting her mentally, forcing her to commit suicide.
The gym trainer, identified as Ankit Sharma, has been arrested.
Talking to India Today, the deceased woman’s brother said that he works in Delhi. He had gone to Sikandra for some work in the afternoon and when he returned, he found his sister hanging by the ceiling.
On receiving the information, police reached the spot and recovered a suicide note from the house.
In the suicide note, the woman wrote that she regretted her decision to start going to the gym and alleged that she was forced by the gym trainer to enter into sexual relations with him when he was already committed to another girl.
SSP Agra, Prabhakar Chaudhary, said that the gym trainer has been arrested upon the complaint filed by the deceased’s brother and the suicide note has been sent for handwriting analysis.
Meanwhile, social activist, Vijay Upadhyay, said that the administration should take note of the excessive number of gyms opening in Agra, which are frequented by anti-social elements and even the staff in such gyms are hired without any character verification.
