The new 3rd Street Market Hall opening soon in downtown Milwaukee is adding an organic greens vendor to its lineup – Milwaukee Journal Sentinel

The new 3rd Street Market Hall opening soon in downtown Milwaukee is adding an aquaponics vendor to its lineup.
Pewaukee-based Valor Aquaponics LLC, which grows organic greens and raises fish, is seeking an occupancy permit for a kiosk at the food hall, 275 W. Wisconsin Ave.
That’s according to a new filing with the city Department of Neighborhood Services.
Valor Aquaponics will be selling fresh produce as well as packaged items from other vendors, according to the application.
Aquaponics is an indoor process that grows produce and raises fish.
Valor Aquaponics was launched by Patrick Hansen and Devin Johnson in December 2019.
The company grows an assortment of organic lettuces, microgreens, herbs and vegetables while raising yellow perch and rainbow trout. It obtained U.S. Department of Agriculture organic certification in November 2020.
3rd Street Market Hall will be in The Avenue, a mix of retail space, offices and apartments that redeveloped the former Grand Avenue Mall.
The food hall’s vendors will include Anytime Arepa, Dairyland, Greenhouse, Brew City Brand, Mid-Way Bakery, Amano Pan, Make Waves, Hot Dish Pantry, Middle East Side, Strega, Supernova, Topgolf Swing Suites, a gaming lounge and a selfie museum.

Its opening has been delayed several times in part because of the COVID-19 pandemic. Shortages and delays in construction materials also have affected the project.
While an official opening hasn’t yet been announced, there will be a Dec. 22 event with the proceeds going to the United for Waukesha Community Fund.
That event runs from 5 to 8 p.m. and will feature nine to 15 food stations, according to a statement from 3rd Street Market Hall.
Tickets are $100 per person. They can be purchased online through Eventbrite.
