Global provider of premium live casino content to open state-of-the-art four-floor studio in Tbilisi with 130 tables and a team of 1,700
On Air Entertainment, the go-to provider of thrilling live casino content, is set to break ground and a brand-new studio located in the Georgian capital of Tbilisi as part of wider global expansion plans.
The four-floor studio will contain 130 tables for English Blackjack and Roulette, with each set against stunning backdrops that have been designed to capture the unique atmosphere of a buzzing land-based casino floor.
This is the fast-growing provider’s third studio and takes its total table capacity to 220 and comes shortly after announcing it had been given the green light to open a studio in Romania.
The Georgia studio benefits from cutting-edge digital environments as well as high-definition cameras and powerful microphones. This ensures games are broadcast to the highest quality and deliver a superior player experience at all times.
The facility will be run by a team of 1,500 – 2,000, including game presenters as well as operations and technology units.
OnAir expects to open the doors of its Georgia studio in Q1 2023 with operators already showing interest in adding these tables to their portfolios.
After launching its first blackjack table in November 2021, OnAir has since worked tirelessly to enhance its offering with the addition of roulette, speed roulette and auto roulette and 9 Pots of GoldTM StreamIconTM Edition to follow on 16 August and 6 September respectively.
The OnAir network is also certified in key regulated markets including the Isle of Man, the UK, Greece, Ontario, Latvia, Sweden, Denmark, the Netherlands and Malta.
Mathijs Beugelink, Head of Operations at OnAir Entertainment, said: “We have quickly become the go-to provider of premium live casino content and the demand for our games continues to increase at pace, which is why we have an ambitious roadmap for new studio launches.
“Our Georgia studio really is cutting edge and the technologies it contains allow us to deliver an unrivalled player experience at all times.
“It is great to be able to bring so many jobs to the wonderful city of Tbilisi and we look forward to growing out our team with the best talent in the business. This is a significant milestone for OnAir Entertainment and for the operators that we work with.”
Vasileios Martharis, Head of Studio, Georgia, at OnAir Entertainment, added: “OnAir’s Georgia studio will be one of the most advanced in the industry and will allow us to further strengthen our position as a tier-one live dealer provider to operators in regulated markets around the world.
“I am looking forward to building out the team that will run the studio with me and bringing such a significant employment opportunity to Tbilisi. OnAir is committed to becoming the leading provider of live casino content in the industry, and this studio is another step towards achieving this goal.”

By a vote of 63 to 23 abstentions, the Armenian parliament has passed in the second and final reading a set of changes to the law on advertising, which restrict the advertisement of gambling by casinos, lotteries, bookmakers or other organisations that provide the opportunity to make bets. The changes also ensure a level playing field for the industry.
Gambling advertising is allowed only in four-star and higher hotels, border checkpoints and the front of buildings offering gambling. Advertising in other places is prohibited.
The changes were criticised by advertising companies, which claim that about 60-70% of their income is generated through online gambling games. However, according to the government, there are other estimates showing that this figure is only 20-25%.
According to the government, the changes are prompted by the fact that more and more people, especially young ones, are getting addicted to gambling. It says the number of bets made in 2020 increased 6 times as opposed to 2018.
During earlier debates in the parliament on the proposed changes, the head of the parliamentary committee on economic issues Babken Tunyan said that 3.2 trillion dram worth bets had been made in the country from January to November 2021. For comparison, he stressed that the government’s revenues last year amounted to about 1.6 trillion drams.

Scientific Games Corporation has announced that it has signed a comprehensive, 10-year agreement with Azerlotereya to support the national lottery and sports betting concession in Azerbaijan.
The deal expands Scientific Games’ successful partnership with Demirören to Azerbaijan, where Demirören is now operating the national lottery Azerlotereya.
Scientific Games will exclusively supply retail and digital instant games, and its AEGIS omni-channel bet management system delivering iLottery, retail instant games and draw games nationally. This solution uses Scientific Games Lottery Group’s platform that powers retail and digital lottery and sports betting programs for leading lotteries, including the Company’s most recent launch of the national sports betting concession in Turkey—also in partnership with Demiroren.
“We are very pleased that the Republic of Azerbaijan chose to put its trust in Demiroren to operate this very important national asset and we will repay that trust by making a significant investment in Azerbaijan along with our trusted partner, Scientific Games. This marks our third consecutive successful investment with their teams and world-leading games and technologies,” Sinan Oktay, Board Member of Demirören Holding, said.
Following the successful launch of the Turkish sports betting business, Demirören’s joint venture with Italian company SISAL won a competitive tender and was awarded the license for Turkey’s state-owned lottery company, Milli Piyango, through 2030. This joint venture is also powered by Scientific Games’ AEGIS instant ticket management system and 10,000 advanced WAVE retailer terminals, as well as retail and digital instant games. Since launching in August 2020, the lottery is experiencing record instant game sales across retail and digital channels.
“We are proud to build on our momentum with our successful retail and digital lottery and sports betting programs in Turkey to support Azerbaijan with our trusted partner Demirören. We are focused on delivering the industry’s most innovative products and technology to maximize proceeds for our lottery customers. We look forward to driving profits for the benefit of the Azerbaijan government and its 10 million citizens,” Pat McHugh, Lottery Group Chief Executive for Scientific Games, said.
