Early last year, the long-anticipated Live! Casino and Hotel Philadelphia debuted. The $700 million project spans 510,000 square feet, features 2,100 slot machines, a 15,000-square-foot event space, and a 208-key hotel. Successfully launching amid a pandemic required thoughtful financial leadership. Instrumental to its success is CFO Krystal Jones, who has over a decade of experience in casino financial operations. Throughout the process to bring Live! to fruition, Jones, 39, leaned on her past experiences that includes some of the biggest names in the industry, including Caesars Entertainment and MGM National Harbor outside of Washington, D.C.
Proudest professional accomplishment: Attaining the chief financial officer role. It has been a goal of mine since I started my career and I’m so proud of myself for accomplishing it before the age of 40.
Proudest non-professional accomplishment: Being named “Best Mommy” by both of my daughters.
Before my 40th birthday, I’d like to: Learn French! I am going to France to celebrate my 40th birthday.
The best advice I’ve ever gotten: Work hard and never give up! You can do anything if you put your mind to it, but you need to believe in it to your core.
Go-to tactic when feeling burned out: Enjoy a long, relaxing spa day!
Something on my bucket list: Explore Japan for three weeks. I would love to experience the culture, the food, and everything that the country has to offer from Hokkaido to Kyushu.
The best-kept secret in Greater Philadelphia is: Bubbles and Pearls happy hour at The Prime Rib on Wednesdays. I love oysters and champagne, so it’s by far my favorite happy hour in Philly!
