Air Canada and Avis have launched a match opportunity for Aeroplan elite members and those with Premium cobranded credit cards.
Aeroplan 75 and Super Elite members get Avis President’s Club membership, while Aeroplan 25K/35K/50K get Avis Preferred Plus. Status matches in 2022 will be valid through the end of 2023.

Avis Status Match Terms and Conditions
Avis President’s Club Status
Qualification:
Aeroplan members, who hold 75K or Super Elite Status in the Aeroplan EliteTM status program (“Aeroplan Elite Status Program”) or who are Basic/Primary Cardholders of an Eligible Co-Brand Card (as defined below), may qualify to enroll for Avis President’s Club® status. Enrollment into the Avis President’s Club status is required via the Aeroplan form here, and the status match will be in effect immediately but may take up to 7 business days after enrollment and acceptance by Avis® to appear on your Avis Preferred® profile. Once approved, and subject to the Avis Preferred Terms and Conditions, your Avis President’s Club status is effective until the end of the following calendar year.
Secondary, Supplementary, or additional cardholders of an Eligible Co-Brand Card do not to qualify for Avis President’s Club status unless they also hold 75K or Super Elite status in the Aeroplan Elite Status Program.
Confirmed Vehicle Availability and Upgrades available to Aeroplan members who successfully enroll in the Avis President’s Club status:
Guaranteed rental car availability – Aeroplan members who successfully enroll to Avis President’s Club status will receive a vehicle if they made a reservation 24 hours in advance of rental checkout, up to a full-size 4-door vehicle.
Complimentary two-car class upgrades – Aeroplan members who successfully enroll to Avis President’s Club status will receive a complimentary two-car class upgrade based on availability. Members must rent an intermediate (group C) vehicle or larger in order to qualify for an upgrade. Offered at participating Avis locations in the U.S, Canada, Europe, Australia and New Zealand.

Avis Preferred Plus Status

Earning Aeroplan Points
By enrolling into the Avis President’s Club Status or Avis Preferred Plus status, Aeroplan members agree to make Aeroplan points the default earning currency on their Avis Preferred account, which means that car rentals with Avis® will automatically earn Aeroplan points instead of Avis Preferred points. Aeroplan members will not receive both Avis Preferred® Points and Aeroplan points for the same transaction. The earn preference can be changed at any time on your Avis Preferred Profile or by contacting Avis.
Data Sharing between Avis and Aeroplan
To facilitate this status match program, Aeroplan will share the following information with Avis: first name, last name, Aeroplan Elite Status Program level, and where applicable if the Aeroplan member is a primary cardholder of an Eligible Co-Brand Card, Aeroplan number, Avis email address, Avis Wizard Number, postal code and the last four digits of the driver’s license.
By participating in the status match program, you consent to Avis and Aeroplan, each sharing and receiving your Avis Preferred and Aeroplan member data, including but not limited to account numbers, car rental data, with and from Aeroplan and Avis Preferred and their respective, subsidiaries, affiliates, and agents, including Air Canada. Such data will be used by Avis and Aeroplan in connection with the status match program and will be used individually by Avis and Aeroplan in accordance with their respective privacy policies.
General
The status match program is open only to Aeroplan and Avis Preferred members in good standing. Once the request for status match is completed, Avis Preferred status must be manually removed by Avis through their contact centres. Program is non-transferable and is not redeemable for cash.
All Avis Preferred Terms and Conditions and Rental Terms and Conditions apply, including the right to change, limit or modify the Avis Preferred and Avis President’s Club Program or portions of the program at any time. For complete details about Avis Preferred, go to Avis.com.
Membership, qualification, benefits and terms for Avis President’s Club and Avis Preferred Plus status depends on country of residency, current Aeroplan Elite Status as well as the exact matching of details provided on Aeroplan’s status match website. There is no guarantee of success for status match requests.
The email address, area/zip code and last four digits of your driver’s license that you submit on the status enrollment page must match the information that is in your Avis profile. The first and last name in your Aeroplan account must also match what is listed in your Avis profile. Please check your Avis Preferred profile information on the Avis web site to ensure that your enrollment information matches before submitting your request. If your details do not match, contact Avis to update your profile and you may then resubmit your request on the Aeroplan form.
For requests processed in 2022, all status match requests will be honoured until December 31, 2023. Thereafter, Avis® reserves the right to determine the validity period of the status benefit offering, which may differ from the effective periods of the Preferred Status or Aeroplan Elite Status generally offered by Aeroplan and Avis®. Both Avis® and Aeroplan have the right to terminate the status benefit opportunity or modify the same, in whole or in part, at any time, with or without notice.
You must maintain your Aeroplan Elite Status or continue to hold an Eligible Co-Brand Card in order to continue to benefit from Avis Preferred Plus® or Avis President’s Club® status, as the case may be. If your Aeroplan Elite Status is lost or lower than previous years, Aeroplan may share this data with Avis® and your Avis Preferred® status may also be affected, unless Avis Preferred® status was earned through Avis® car rentals in accordance with applicable terms and conditions of the Avis Preferred® program terms and conditions.
