BEDFORD, NY — If you have your health, you truly do have everything. A golden opportunity to help protect the riches that matter the most is planned this month in Bedford.
The Town of Bedford announced that they will be hosting a Health + Wellness Fest, along with the Bedford-Lewisboro-Pound Ridge Drug Abuse Prevention Council and the Bedford Central School District.
The event will be held on Saturday, October 22, from 11 a.m. – 4 p.m., outside Fox Lane High School, on the field adjacent to the senior parking lot near the north entrance. The fest will be held in the gym if it rains. Rain or shine, there will be several classrooms used for workshops, presentations and training.
There will be food trucks, live music, free health screenings and giveaways, workshops for youth and adults. Healthcare providers, local businesses and nonprofits will all be on hand.
The Town of Bedford also announced that local residents will be able to receive NARCAN training at the Health + Wellness Fest. The training will be hosted by the Westchester County Department of Health and will teach people how to recognize the signs of an opioid overdose, how to administer the lifesaving treatment and how to obtain a kit for home. Participants must be at least 18 years old to become certified. Register for the NARCAN training here.
