A new Bracknell gym that opens it’s doors this week welcomed town councillors to the official opening day yesterday, July 31.
MP James Sunderland and Bracknell Town mayor Dai Roberts joined the club officials at their new Ozone venue.
The successful day resulted in several members of the community signing up to the gym which now includes dedicated cardio equipment, a boxing ring, and a sparring ring.
The MP and mayor were taken on a tour throughout the facility and shown demonstrations from existing Boxing for Veterans club members.
Boxing for Veterans new gym is in partnership with The Ozone Ice Rink.
It has also been equipped with dedicated equipment for strength and resistance training, callisthenics and designated shower facilities with access to the café and lounge.
MP, James Sunderland stated: “I’m delighted to see the huge progress made by Boxing for Veterans in setting up their own gym in Bracknell.
“Thank you to Ozone and all those who have made it possible. It’s a fantastic cause so all we need now are some local sponsors to get behind it.
The day was a success with many visitors to the gym, with several members of the community signing up.
Mayor Dai Roberts stated:

“The Ozone centre for all Bracknell residents and veterans to get active and meet up. The space will be a real asset for both Bracknell Town and Veterans alike.

Boxing For Veterans (BFV) is a CIC based in Bracknell and was initially established to support and raise money for veteran’s charities, through boxing events, pitting Armed Forces Veterans against civilian club boxers.
Since inception they have formed a community of veterans and civilian supporters. However, their mission scope has evolved and expanded to directly support the recovery journey of veterans through the power of sport and community.
They work tackling isolation, physical and mental health recovery and developing a community network among veterans and supportive civilians, all while continuing to raise money through events.
Boxing for Veterans provides support to the individuals, creates a community of shared support and raises funding for dedicated military charities.
This first gym will be a pilot for additional gyms across the country.
